Also, if he does too much exercise his heart could give up on him very quickly.
And, if he stops eating, his whole body will shutdown, as he needs the energy to keep his muscles holding him up.
Lastly, once your in that condition your basicly critical. I'd but happy to live another couple of months. Simple diet would help him a little, but not enough to get you out of that condition.
(I may have exagerated a wee bit, but you get what I'm saying)

It is very insensitive to act as though this boy has twenty pounds to lose. A month of complete starvation would not do him a bit of good.
